THE MARKET

Egypt was the leading country in Africa to start oil and gas activities: throughout its long history of successes, the Egyptian oil industry has always been interactive with world-wide trends and encourages foreign investors to assist the country in unlocking its potential vast petroleum and gas reserves.

The Egyptian Gas industry is willing and determined to cooperate with business partners in the upstream activities, to make use of technology advances and industry trends, and to coordinate with gas markets, in order to effectively participate in the global gas industry.
Diversification of the Egyptian gas supply outlets is becoming an essential factor and an outstanding milestone for the Egyptian gas industry, securing long term upstream investment in gas prone areas.

Egypt has already entered gas export arena by signing gas export agreements and the experience gained by the Egyptian gas industry dealing with Union Fenosa and ELNG projects, has created awareness of the current changes and future trends of the gas trading in general and the LNG trade in particular, which will promote future steps with the Egyptian gas export scheme.
All these factors will ultimately enhance Egypt’s position as an oil & gas producer and exporter attracting eventually more international investments.
